While it’s true that Sony mobile has taken a loss in the last couple of years, they are hoping to turn things around starting with the Xperia Z smartphones. We have been lucky to see two flagship releases each of the last couple of years, but this will be a thing of the past with the 2016 Sony Xperia Z5 release date.
One of the biggest factors behind Sony moving to a more conventional Xperia Z release date schedule is to consolidate their mobile franchise and concentrate on creating higher quality devices. We are hoping to see this first-hand with the Sony Xperia Z5 release which is rumored to be by far the best Xperia smartphone yet.
Not just one Z5 is rumored, but we’re expecting to see a smaller, budget friendly version, standard Xperia Z5, and the highly regarded Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra. The Compact will be a smaller, probably 4.6” version of the Z5 and is expected to be much cheaper. The Z5 Ultra is rumored to be Sony’s answer to the Phablet, and may be as big as 6.1 inches.
Those in China will see the release ahead of most other markets including here in the US and UK. Rumors on the China Sony Xperia Z5 release date are for the 2nd quarter, and probably sometime in May. Those of outside of Asia and in markets including the US, UK, and other larger markets are hoping to see all three versions by the end of May to the beginning of June.
