Sony is adapting the idea of quality over quantity, and we will see this in the latest 2016 smartphone rumors on the Xperia Z5 release. Sony is looking for ways of consolidating much of their mobile device manufacturing, but will be adapting the idea of creating better quality devices instead of more devices. This will be seen in the 2016 with the Sony Xperia Z5 release which will be the only Sony flagship smartphone next year.
The Xperia series has given us two additions each year as seen in previous releases, but this will all change in 2016. This year we will see the release of the Xperia Z4 during Q2, and there have been rumors on the Sony Xperia Z5 debuting in Q4. The latter is not likely as Sony is rumored to be adapting more of a conventional release cycle with one release per year, instead of releasing two flagships the same year.
With the idea of consolidating, the new 2016 smartphone rumors suggests we’ll see three versions of the Z5. A smaller Xperia Z5 Compact is expected to be 4.6 inches and will appeal to budget minded consumers. Expected to carry similar specs as the standard Z5 like a QHD display, but may sport a 2K resolution instead of a 4K resolution.
The rumored 6” Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra is what Phablet lovers will soon appreciate. The larger version of the Z5 is tailored to those looking for something bigger and better, and the Z5 Ultra will be just that. Featuring an amazing 6” QHD display or an Ultra HD 4K resolution, 24 – 27 MP rear camera, waterproof design, all metal uni-body, and a 2.9 GHZ octa-core processor, the Ultra will rival premium Phablet releases from Samsung and Apple in 2016.
Stay tuned for all the top 2016 smartphone rumors including the latest on all three versions of the Xperia Z5.
